There's nothing better than a perfectly prepared grilled cheese sandwich! But getting it right each and every time takes practice. Ingredients
2 slices of bread
Cheddar cheese (thin sliced or grated)
Butter* (room temperature)
* Mayonnaise can be substituted for butter and you can't tell the difference!
Preparation
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat (approx 2 minutes)
Spread butter (or mayo) on one side of each slice of bread
Place bread butter side down and add sliced or grated cheese (the buttered surface should be on the outside of the sandwich)
Place the sandwich in the heated skilled and cover
After approx. 2 minutes use a spatula to look under the sandwich. If it's golden brown, flip it & press down on the sandwich with the spatula.
Grill the other side of the bread for another 2 minutes or until golden brown
Plate & serve!
