When Molly K. Miceli, a registered nurse, realized that health care often didn't extend past the doctor's office door, she decided to make a difference. She founded LifeStyle Options, Inc. to provide home care services that encourage adults to be independent as long as possible and to live at home with dignity, comfort, and security. Today, LifeStyle Options provides hourly and live-in private duty care, as well as health care facility staffing. The company services all of Chicago and its suburbs, Rockford and Champaign. "I wanted to be part of a company that people could really count on; a company that offered the most reliable services available," says Molly. And so the dream began. "Starting a company from scratch is never easy," says Miceli, "but to be able to make a difference in someone’s life is a wonderful reward. Almost as soon as we started, we had an experience that reinforced all we were trying to do. We received a referral from a nursing home for companion care for one of their residents. Because it was a beautiful spring day, our caregiver took the gentleman outside in his wheelchair. Imagine her consternation when she saw tears running down his cheeks. When asked what was wrong, the man responded, 'Nothing at all. It's just been so long since I've felt the sun on my face.' It turned out that it had been more than two years since he had been outside! These types of interactions are the reason we exist."

The dream has grown bigger and better each year. Over the years, LifeStyle Options’ expertise has also extended to include innovative, on-site senior housing services that help communities attract and retain residents. Today, LifeStyle Options provides hourly and live-in private duty care, senior housing services, and health care facility staffing as a licensed nurse agency. The company services all of Chicago and its suburbs, Rockford and Champaign. "Best of all, the majority of our referrals now come from our own caregivers and clients," says Miceli.
